The Portuguese startup Prodsmart has been selected to compete in the EIT Digital Challenge final in the category “Digital Industry”. The company with headquarters in Lisbon offers a real-time information system that analyses production lines and job shops in real-time and turns any production plant into a digital smart factory. The team with CEO Gonçalo Fortes is invited to present their technology at the Slush conference on November 30, where an international expert jury will select the winner.

In total, 44 highly innovative digital startups from 16 different countries have been nominated in five digital technology categories. Eleven companies come from the UK, five from France and four from Spain. The average expected revenue for 2016 is € 640,000, the average team size is 13, average funds raised to date is € 700,000, and 57% have female founders/co-founders.

The finalists will compete in five pitch events that take place in five different cities across Europe end of November. Their goal: to achieve international growth support by Europe’s leading open innovation network, EIT Digital.

In each category, three startups will be selected and awarded at the following final events:

  • November 21, 2016 – Stockholm – Digital Infrastructure
  • November 24, 2016 – Eindhoven – Digital Wellbeing
  • November 28, 2016 – London – Digital Finance
  • November 29, 2016 – Paris – Digital Cities
  • November 30, 2016 – Helsinki – Digital Industry
